After continuous growth over the past 3 years, this year’s Italian Festa expanded to include many more of the wonderful attributes Europe is known for. Re-named Euro Festa – the 4th hosting of the annual event  took place in The Piazza at The Waterfront on Sunday, 26th August 2012 with a large number of both residents and visitors turning out to celebrate la dolce vita and make the most of the beautiful weather.

The Waterfront’s Piazza was transformed into an eclectic mix of live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, exotic food stalls – including a wood-fired pizza oven – and an enviable collection of classic European cars and motorcycles, including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Volvo, FIAT, Lancia and Peugeot.

The area around the Pulse gym came alive with family-friendly fun including face painting, a jumping castle, puppet shows and even petting zoo, whilst the roaming musical entertainment made sure that even the folks away from the stage didn’t miss out on experiencing some of the unique European tunes. The highlight of the day was the Spanish Flamenco Dancers, who entertained the crowd with an exotic and spirited display of traditional Spanish dance.

Overall, a fun day was had by everyone who attended. A big thank you should go to Lou Casmiri, the Bocce Club and the Wentworth Point Community Central committee for their ongoing organisation and management of the event and help on the day, the various stores in the piazza and the stall vendors for their delicious culinary items (especially Cuccina for providing the gift vouchers) and the musical and demonstration performers for providing hours of enjoyable and informative entertainment to the crowd over the course of the day.

We hope you enjoyed this year’s 2012 Euro Festa, and look forward to seeing you next year.
